ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Prerequisite: Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking (R10316)
  • Package Entry Requirements:
      For students wanting to apply for the package of the Certificate III in Information, Digital Media & Technology (Network Administration), Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking), and the Diploma of Information Technology (Networking), including the Bachelor of I.T Networking at TAFE NSW the following English entry is required:
    • Academic IELTS 6.0, with no band less than 5.5, TOEFL iBT at a minimum overall score of 60 with reading at a minimum of 12, listening a minimum of 11, speaking at a minimum of 17 and writing at a minimum of 20, or successful completion of English Language Programs (Beginner to Advanced) at TAFE NSW

    COURSE STRUCTURE AND UNITS

    To receive the Diploma of Information Technology Networking students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.

    Note: Additional units contain compulsory and elective units which may vary between each semester and campus, and will depend on a number of considerations including the packaging rules for the qualification and demand for the unit.

    When you finish this course, you can apply to study ICA60211 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security) R10341or you can apply to study the Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security) 20524 at Meadowbank College. This is a three-year professional degree offered by TAFE NSW Higher Education that prepares you for employment as a network security specialist in this fast growing and dynamic industry. The course includes presentations and case studies by leading professional experts, so that students develop tools and techniques for solving security issues and challenges facing the business world today.

    If you have successfully completed the Diploma of Information Technology Networking , you may be eligible to receive up to 8 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security) 20524.

    The Recognition of Prior Learning process involves matching subjects you have successfully completed in your Diploma against degree subjects, other studies and proven work experience may also be taken into consideration.
