This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are developing a broad range of technical and conceptual design skills and who take responsibility for own outputs in work and learning. Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of integrated technical, theoretical knowledge and essential skills required for further study in Interior Design, including:
- Architectural drawing
- Model making
- Computer Aided design (CAD)
- Creative processes
- Design history
Through practical project work you'll learn to draw and communicate your ideas in response to a range of challenging and creative project briefs.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND UNITS
To receive the Certificate IV in Design (Interior Design Foundation) students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.
Note: Additional units contain compulsory and elective units which may vary between each semester and campus, and will depend on a number of considerations including the packaging rules for the qualification and demand for the unit.CORE UNITS ADDITIONAL UNITS
When you finish this course you can apply for entry into the Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration course (MSF50213).
Course fees and duration can vary based on the Institute you want to study at, the entry requirements for the course, and the year you will begin study.
Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from A$300 - $1,000 per course.
