The Diploma of Sustainable Practice is a fully online course aimed at people who work or are planning to work in roles which incorporate sustainability into the core business of their organisation. The course responds to the demand for people with broad knowledge and skills in sustainability practice, and the trend for businesses to be able to participate in the sustainable economy.
Students complete eight subjects which cover the three key areas of knowledge essential for effective sustainability practitioners:
- sustainability in context
- sustainability systems and
- sustainability in action.
The course uses a project based learning approach which allows students to engage with sustainability scenarios relevant to their work environment.

To be eligible for admission into the Diploma of Sustainable Practice you must have at least ONE of the following entry requirments: NSW HSC (higher school certificate) or equivalent, Recognised Tertiary Preparation Certificate, Certificate IV or higher vocational qualification, completion of at least one year full time study or equivalent in a degree course at a higher eductiona institution.
Students will complete eight subjects which cover the three key areas of knowledge essential for effective sustainability practitioners: i)sustainability in context; ii) sustainability systems; and iii) sustainability in action.
The Diploma of Sustainable Practice is a course aimed at people who work, or are planning to work, in roles that incorporate sustainability into the core business of their organisation. The course responds to the demand for people with broad knowledge and skills in sustainability practice, and the trend for all sectors of our economy and community to better participate in a rapidly changing economy and regulatory environment. The course also assists graduates to gain or maintain professional certification with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).
Students who have completed other studies in a related field or who have extensive relevant industry experience may be eligible for exemption from similar subjects in the Diploma of Sustainable Practice. All applications for exemption must be made to the course coordinator and must include supporting documentation. Students should attend class until they are formally advised that their application for exemption has been granted.

This course is delivered via mixed delivery part time over a 2 year period requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week of study.

In addition to tuition fees, there may be additional resource and/or field trip fees to undertake this course. Students may also be required to purchase textbooks for each subject they are enrolled in.
