Get your start in special effects (SFX) prosthetics and create monster masks in this exciting short course. Design and make your own reptilian or space-age monster mask and follow your passion for entertaining an audience through character design.
Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Create a prosthetic mask from your own monster concept design
Research and draw your concept design
Create a plasticine mould and build a latex mask
Paint your latex mask using acrylic paints
Apply knowledge of available products to create effects
Work with a small budget and meet production requirements on time
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
