Get your start in special effects (SFX) prosthetics and create monster masks in this exciting short course. Design and make your own reptilian or space-age monster mask and follow your passion for entertaining an audience through character design.

Outcomes What you'll gain

Learning outcomes

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Create a prosthetic mask from your own monster concept design

  • Research and draw your concept design

  • Create a plasticine mould and build a latex mask

  • Paint your latex mask using acrylic paints

  • Apply knowledge of available products to create effects

  • Work with a small budget and meet production requirements on time

Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
