TAFE NSW also offers the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety as a traineeship. To be eligible to enrol as a trainee you must:
- Be employed in the work health and safety industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
- Have a signed traineeship contract

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.
To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:
- a trainee (you will work in industry and study at the same time)
- employed full time
- signed up with an Apprentice Network Provider and have a Training Plan Proposal
- seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified in Work Health and Safety after successful completion
To successfully complete this qualification you will need to demonstrate skills in some assessments. This will require you to organise and participate in a number of role plays which you may be asked to video-record and submit for marking.
You will need to:
- have regular access to a computer with a reliable internet connection.
- have access to recording equipment such as a camera or smart phone
- source adult colleagues, friends or family members who are available and willing to participate in your recorded role plays. Please note, TAFE Digital does not provide participants for your role plays.
Please be aware that recordings will be retained by TAFENSW for audit purposes.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a self paced online course. You must attend approximately 5 hours of class. You may also be required to complete approximately 3 hours of additional study. This additional study could include private study, work placements and research.
The course will run for 2 years.

Australian Traineeships training can be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both. TAFE NSW will negotiate your attendance and study pattern with you and your employer.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
