    • A minimum of 100 hours of work placement in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia for this qualification.
    • The work placement will either be arranged by TAFE NSW in partnership with the school and implemented within the student’s program to enable consolidation, reflection, improvement, and assessment to occur, or can be organised by individual students with endorsement from TAFE NSW via a letter of introduction from the teaching section to verify your enrolment in the Education Support qualification for the school that you are requesting work placement experience. Work placement is an opportunity to learn on the job and complete assessment requirements and often leads to employment opportunities.

The vaccination requirement is for workers or students to have received 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or be issued with a medical contraindication certificate by 8 November 2021 to be able to undertake relevant work. If you are not vaccinated we cannot assure you that this component of your course can be organized or fulfilled, which will impact your ability to successfully course complete. Details can be found https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families/vaccination-requirements-for-school-sites#Vaccination0 TAFENSW recognises students’ reasons for not being vaccinated. This can be discussed privately with TAFE NSW career counsellors prior to enrolment. A valid Working with Children Check will be required by the Education and Care Service.
