Work placement

  • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:

    • Work placement is not compulsory, however it is highly recommended. Students enrolled in this course are encouraged to complete work placement with a host employer as part of their training program. Work placement is designed to enrich formal training and increase your employability. Practical sessions can be completed as work placement with a host employer that has been approved by the teaching section. Learners not participating in work placement with a host employer, will be required to participate in scheduled clinic sessions at TAFE, providing services on paying clients.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 28 units of competency, including 21 core and 7 speciality units.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
