Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
Work placement is not compulsory, however it is highly recommended. Learners enrolled in this course are encouraged to complete work placement with a host employer as part of their training program. Work placement is designed to enrich formal training and increase your employability.
Practical sessions can be completed as work placement with a host employer that has been approved by the teaching section. Learners not participating in work placement with a host employer, will be required to participate in scheduled clinic sessions at TAFE, providing services on paying clients.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 28 units of competency, including 21 core and 7 speciality units.
