This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions
Skills assessments: role-play scenarios, group work activities, presentations and demonstrations under observation
Case studies: case-study scenarios and reflection
Portfolio: samples of work in a workplace environment
Projects: reports, research-based projects, journals and essays
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:
Students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of voluntary work at an organisation with a structured volunteer program. This will not commence prior to 16 September 2022.
Students will need to provide a Current Working with Children Clearance and a National Police Check prior to Friday 19 August 2022.

To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:
Students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of voluntary work at an organisation with a structured volunteer program. This will not commence prior to 16 September 2022. Students will need to provide a Current Working with Children Clearance and a National Police Check prior to Friday 19 August 2022. You will be required to complete independent study, assessments, workshops, industry consultation, project work and/or volunteer work on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout your course.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Community Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 5 core and 7 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
