  • To successfully complete this course:

  • -Student is required to successfully complete all units .

  • -Students are required to undertake a numeracy and literacy test with an outcome of a minimum of 2 working at 3. Meeting the standards for numeracy and literacy, a second stage interview will be undertaken.

  • You will be required to attain a level of literacy level 3. You must complete each of the units and the workplace component to a satisfactory level.

  • A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) level at ACSF Level 3 when commencing the course and basic computer skills. This will be assessed as part of your enrolment process.

  • -Mandatory 80 Hrs of workplace attendance in an Acute Hospital setting. Immunisation and Criminal Record Check requirements are mandatory in accordance with NSW health policy.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in nursing work in acute care) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 Units of competency, including 15 core and 0 speciality units.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
