Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

Check with your teachers on employer eligibility. At times access to the workplace may be disrupted due to COVID-19. TAFE NSW has implemented additional protocols to protect workplace, student and Teachers and/or Assessor health and safety. You will need to complete a National Criminal record check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) to go on work placement.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Leisure and Health qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 10 core and 7 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
