Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Complete a Walk Through Country
Use Aboriginal words correctly
Research your local Aboriginal sites
Follow local Aboriginal Cultural protocols
Gain permission from local Aboriginal representatives or Elders
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
Knowledge of Aboriginal traditions and cultural protocols
Confidence in using language correctly
Credit towards the Diploma of Aboriginal Studies for Professional and Community Development in Analyse aspects of traditional Aboriginal Culture
Some courses require evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Completed a higher school certificate (HSC) or equivalent level (Certificate IV) course, to ensure you have sufficient essay writing and research skills
Confidence to contact Aboriginal organisations
An interest in working with Aboriginal Organisations or Communities
A desire to learn more about Aboriginal Culture
