TAFE NSW is honoured to announce outstanding student achievements at
this year's Graduate of the Year Awards (GOTYA).
Cassandra Hewitt took out the Design Institute of
Australia's Graduate of the Year Awards in the Fashion & Textiles
category, Jason Pante was named Graduate of the
Year in the Interior Design category and Roisin
Wade won a highly commended award in the same category.
The event's big win went to Jason Pante, who was not only winner in
his category, but went on to be named 'Australasian Graduate of the Year'.
AGOTYA is a national, largely portfolio-based awards program that
rewards the highest standards of excellence in final year
undergraduate design students and recent graduates.
Educators in each state were invited to nominate their top design
students, with each student submitting three different studio projects
and a 200-word statement of design philosophy prior to attending an
interview with judges. First prize winners from each state level GOTYA
program were then submitted to a national judging process for the
Australasian GOTYA, won by TAFE NSW's incredibly talented, Jason Pante.
"Design Centre Enmore has instilled within me with a rigours
creative methodology and an array of industry skillsets that have
allowed me to pursue a career in interior design", said Jason
after his win.
"The course was visionary and the teachers are experts in their
field. It was a dynamic combination that created a platform for me to
explore my creativity and develop my skillsets".
Jason's current position is Interior Designer at an international
multidisciplinary design practice. He envisions himself evolving
within the multi-disciplinary firm in the future, an area in which we
have no doubt his talents will excel.
We look forward to following Jason, Cassandra and Roisin on their
exciting journeys to success.
Well done to all involved in this year's GOTYA Awards.
