TAFE Digital laboratory tours and exciting course demonstrations are just some of the highlights of TAFE NSW Armidale’s InfoFest activities this week.
TAFE NSW Acting Regional General Manager Adam Bennett said, “TAFE NSW InfoFest is an exciting opportunity for the Armidale community to speak with teachers about semester two courses, get career advice and to enroll.
“On Thursday, June 27, the community is invited to attend one of more than 25 course information sessions, with demonstrations including Aged Care, Agriculture, Business, Leadership and Management, Hospitality, Early Childhood Education and Care, Engineering and Nursing – just to name a few.
“TAFE NSW has more than 1,200 courses, diplomas and degrees, so whether you’re looking to get qualified faster, change careers, get a promotion or just gain the skills to be your own boss, you can explore your options at InfoFest.”
Bound to be one of the most intriguing demonstrations at InfoFest is Hospitality, with TAFE NSW Armidale Hospitality Head Teacher Matt McAllister saying, “Australian Government statistics reveal that more than 81,000 new chef, and more than 123,000 new bar attendant and barista positions will become available across the country until 2023.
“Hospitality is experiencing a skills shortage across Australia. It will be great for TAFE NSW to demonstrate our hands-on learning courses and state-of-the-art facilities that are available across the state.”
TAFE Digital Learning Lab campus tours will be held from 11am to 12pm, and 3-4pm on Tuesday, June 25.
Potential students will have the opportunity to see first-hand the state-of-the-art facilities which are transforming the way online education is delivered, with TAFE Digital allowing students to study conveniently in their own time and space and at their own pace.
