The Cowra community experienced a unique insight into how TAFE NSW is offering first-class, life-changing training opportunities at a special industry networking dinner last week.
TAFE NSW Services Coordinator, Sylvia White, said, “It was a great evening with nearly 50 industry and community stakeholders attending the event to learn about the future of TAFE NSW and how we remain committed to training our local community,” Ms White said.
“We highlighted that TAFE NSW are always innovating and expanding our course options, with new courses introduced in 2019 including a Statement of Attainment in Nail Enhancement and new TAFE Statement in Liquor Licensee and Advanced Liquor Licensee courses meeting diverse community demand.
“It was also beneficial to engage in proactive talks with the mayors of Cowra and Weddin Shire Councils, along with many industry representatives, about their training needs and how TAFE NSW can continue to deliver positive outcomes for them and the community.”
Ms White said the undoubted highlight of the evening was the event was catered for by a group of talented Certificate III in Catering Operations students.
“The students that cooked and served on the evening have only been studying at TAFE NSW for four months, but they did an outstanding job,” she said.
“The feedback from diners was really encouraging, and it was fantastic that the students were able to put into practice some of the industry-specific skills they are learning at TAFE NSW to ensure they are job ready.”
TAFE NSW Cowra has a number of courses available for enrolment in semester two, including a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, and a Certificate IV in Building and Construction – just to name a few.
