It was a love for all things beauty, that inspired TAFE NSW Dubbo and Nyngan student, Zali Wherritt to follow her dream of opening a successful business in her home town.
To make sure there was never a hair out of place, Zali has been studying beauty and retail makeup at TAFE NSW since high school.
Zali said, “Since I was a little girl I always had my mind set on being a beautician, so I was determined to learn all that I could.
“I’ve learnt so much from the industry qualified teachers at TAFE NSW. My study has really given me hands-on skills and helped me keep up with the latest in industry trends and techniques.
“I had developed a broad range of hair and beauty skills but really wanted to open my own business in Nyngan, so I decided to study a Certificate III in Business Administration at TAFE NSW Nyngan. This course is giving me the confidence to talk with clients and good understanding of business administration.
“I can gladly say now I own and operate my beauty business, Zazzles Beauty Room located in the Little Hair Shop in Nyngan.”
Both of Zali’s TAFE NSW teachers were full of praise of her achievements.
“Zali was a dedicated student who always demonstrate a profesional standard towards her study,” TAFE NSW Beauty Services Teacher, Robyn Mawbey said.
“She really worked hard to get the job-ready skills to achieve her goal of opening her own business in Nyngan.”
TAFE NSW Business Services Teacher, Rosemarie Colosi, added, “Zali is a fantastic student who is able to combine her TAFE NSW study with the demands of running her own business.”
“I notice her developing sound business skills and putting them to good use with the daily operations of her beauty business.”
Zali added, “I’d really encourage those interested in a beauty career to just go for it, it allows you to work anywhere and specialise in different services.
