Steven, a Mudgee resident and Western NSW Local Health District employee, realised he needed to gain the additional skills to be able to lead and empower a dynamic team in his role as the Sector Engineer for Asset Operations. He chose to study a Diploma of Leadership and Management online through TAFE NSW Dubbo to assist him in making improvements and better informed decisions.

Ms Wratten’s new career is in sight after choosing to upskill at the Connected Learning Centre after her five young children had grown. She decided to study a Certificate III in Information Digital Media and Technology (IDMT) and is now furthering her knowledge by enrolling in a Certificate IV.

After falling victim to domestic violence herself, Kara Jayne has made it her mission to help others in a similar situation. For her passion for supporting rural communities and commitment to her career she was also awarded with a $6,000 Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) Foundation Scholarship presented by the Governor of New South Wales, The Hon. Margaret Beazley AO, the Patron of the RAS.
